Hello all,
I have a pcb i designed that outputs text to a LCD to give status of certain things going on, on my PCB i decided to use a RJ45 connector to feed data to the lcd. On the LCD side i have made a daughterboard with this same connector along with a contrast adjustment pot. I am using a 3ft ethernet cable to connect the pcb to the lcd. the problem is, one of the lcds works fine, the other which uses the exact same LCD, and same parts, shows Blocks on the first line when initially powered up, it just does not work in the same manner as the first one, and has some noise on the screen. which is identical. The RJ45 connectors are not sheilded. anyone see any problems with doing it this way?
