Grandstand Astro Wars Game (Faulty) identification

Hiya,

I've just come into possession of a broken pair of these too - haven't had a chance to get either of them apart yet so I don't know if I'll come across the same problem but I'm keen to know how you got on with that 30v BAT85 anyway. Did it help?

For what it's worth, both my units do indeed have the same problem but replacing S06 with a BAT85 just burns it out so it aint one of those.

I did a bit more research and came across this youtube video where in the comments the author suggests it may be a 140v Zener Diode such as a 1N5275B or similar. I've ordered some so fingers crossed...

So the 1N5275B worked and now I have two playable Astro Wars units :)
