Does anyone use the Iris switch system? I just back from the local home improvement store. I was looking at the Iris switch system and I am a bit confused. They are selling an "additional" switch for the Iris system. Of course it is sealed in a cardboard box and there is none on display.

I was trying to figure the exact purpose of the "additional" switch. The box seems to mention that it could be used as an extra switch to control the same light (which I want to do) but also seems to mention wiring (which I don't want).

Here is my problem. The geniuses that designed my (new to me) home back in the 50s placed one switch at the very back of the kitchen. So I need to walk to the very back of the kitchen to turn on the light.

Instead of struggling to wire up through the attic I would like to go wireless to add a switch. What I have seen so far is a system that replaces your existing switch with a rf controlled switch that also looks like a conventional switch. It comes with a remote that controls the base switch. What I don't like about it is the remote looks like a little remote controller. What I want is the remote that looks like a wall switch that I can just mount to the wall.

I am not sure if the Iris additional switch does that or not.

I tried a Google of "remote 3 way switches wireless" and actually got quite a few hits. Not sure there is a solution in the lot but a bunch of stuff. :)

Oh I know there is. I am looking for a specific solution like I said. Something that looks like a switch for the remote. Plus I would like to know exactly how the Iris additional switch works since I would have a local source for the product.

Heck, I keep reading about the thing and still can't figure out exactly what it does. :(

You can control your lights (and other devices for that matter) with your tablet. You can also turn a switch on and off wirelessly with a remote control.
