Hello,

Is the screen resolution the same between the vista and win8?
If you want to test if the laptop is working correctly, try a live linux distribution like knoppix.
You can download knoppix here:
http://knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html
Just download it and burn it on a dvd and boot your laptop from that dvd.

The normal screen resolution is best viewed in 1024x768 and a grid by a line for symbols and synonyms computing with full ASCII list doesn't require speedy movements around but {Io=Po(V1/Vo)(>----------<)link }would be the reactance of impedence quality and you want grid like a flip flop connected to a chain of flip flops upto say 7 grids ,also a timing server in helping you from boot to shutdown.
Hang loose.......I'll find it right there for you.
