I just got Audacity 3.3.3 and I have it on my Win11 System.

All of my MP3s are opening but one.

It says it is unable to read it.

So I try to Import it and it says it can not open it try using FFmpeg.

I know FFmpeg is a CODEC but will it just be one File?

If I go to get it I get a Zip Folder.

Can anybody tell me if I need FFmpeg or what to do or try?

 

get the zip folder and then open it and unzip the contents. Certainly tedious, but typical.

 

I have the ffmpeg File and it says 7z.

I have Win11 and I Right Click on it but I see no Extract option.

Can you send me to a good Link for the ffmpeg File?

I did go to one place but I got lost on the page.

 

You need a third party compression utility that can handle 7z format files. I can't help very much but I'd imagine WinZip does the job.
