I am interested in designing and making clocks and watches which I plan to sell. I also want to make clocks and watches for myself to keep.

BUILD TO SELL! For some folks that is both a hobby and a career, and it can even be fun. Even better, clocks are a safe item to sell, no license needed to sell clocks. And a great sort of product to be creative with, lots of room to be creative.
