My first "real" job was as a summer fill in for a lab tech at Ablestik Adhesives in the summer of 1973;. I almost ended up changing my major to chemistry because of this...but I already had too much invested in electronics. (No regrets at all, mind you). However, in the few short months I was there I learned some of the most interesting chemistry on the planet. This document, written largely by my old boss at Ablestik, Norm Nygard, is well worth the read. The section on measuring dielectric constant is very relevant to us electronics folk...and this was one of my jobs there.

I've had an interesting life....and it just gets more intrestinger. :)

Interesting chemistry. Not too far from what I did with bioluminescence (e.g. fireflys) and chemiluminescence (e.g., 1,2-dioxetanes). No regrets either for taking another path.
