Morning everyone,

So i had a horrible day yesterday, i had two aquarium lights fail yesterday not sure what happened i think maybe a power surge?

I have attached some pictures as you can see it is running a pretty standard configuration of the PAM2861 as per their recommended schematic.
3leds in series with each PAM2861 using a SK34A diode and a 330 inductor.

I can get the PAM2861 pretty cheap off eBay, there is a total of 72 of them across the board, and 72 diodes to be replace.

The one IC i am having trouble identifying is this diode.
RV1 it is marked 27C looks like its some kind of suppression diode any ideas?

All led Modules appear to be perfectly fine.

 

I am wondering if it is a TVS Diode symbol looks like this but has 27C stamped on it

Make sure you check the electros to make sure they have not lost capacity. That is a very common fault.

These are standard diodes available from many manufacturers (e.g.: Littlefuse), considering their rôle, and that you think the one you had failed to succeed at it, perhaps this is a case where purchasing from a more reputable source is a good idea.

Sorry electros ? You mean the electrolotic capacitor?

Yea will check them with an esr Meter. Will take a month for the parts to arrive
