Hello everyone, I just recently purchased electrolytic filter caps in 8uf and 4uf 600v
I'm using them to restore an eico 950b and paco c20 capacitance bridge tester.
However, these have a high esr of 8ohms using my Mser-100 tester. The mser tester indicates that it's ok to use them if the UF of the caps being tested is under 10uf. The caps were purchased from a respected vendor in Canada that specializes in vintage electronics.
Question is, are the esr readings way too high for new aluminum electrolytics ?

 

And what is indicated in the datasheet for these capacitors?

 

Depends on where in the circuit the capacitors are used.
I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Hello bob, they are miec caps, I will look at the data sheets if they are available. However , this is old analog test equipment here about 1960 era
