i just bought new esp 01(black one). it was working fine on first day but now it is not working, when i open the serial monitor it just gives me strange characters. so i decided to reflash the chip but i couldnt do it either. i am using the software xtcom to upload firmware but when i try to connect it it gives me the error of failed to connect with target

 

I have killed some of these. According to a forum I read somewhere, they are very prone to dying if the power supply cannot have enough current capacity.
It may be something else too.
Have you another one to test to ensure you are driving it correctly?

you do know that at boot the serial does that till it boot's then it switches speed of the serial port.
