Am pissed by deaf idiot neighbors with their Somewhere says to try ultrasonic whistles or tone generators to stop them. But I want them loud ! How to tell if what I come up with is annoyingly loud ?

 

That's a bad idea. It would punish dogs that aren't barking. It would punish cats who don't bark. There was a post like this a couple months ago.

Make recordings of non-stop barking and contact animal control. Make sure the animal control officer gives the legally required warnings, then go to court to testify against them.

We had neighbors with 2 dogs that barked continuously. They lived about 1000' away from my property. Animal control took them to court for the next-door neighbor. They got off because the animal control officer didn't follow the law closely enough. The judge coached the officer after the trial. Fortunately, they moved away and it's no longer an issue.

But, the new neighbors put in a gun range... Fortunately, they don't shoot as much as the previous neighbors' dogs barked.

Maybe you could get some sort of parabolic unidirectional ultrasonic transmitter? ... that way you won't punish most of the rest of nature along with the annoying dogs
