I have a DMM. It always reads my handset battery voltage to be 3.7V with maximum of 5% tolerance, wether it is fully charged or partially. same my manufacturer claims. Please tell me is it emf or potential difference between its ends? Clarify the difference b/w these two voltages.

 

EMF is potential difference. Also called, "voltage".
