You forgot to post the images.
You said you are buying from a "seller" so I guess you are buying cheeep ebay junk. Most of their speakers have no audio spec's.
A 70mm speaker is like the little one in a cheap clock radio. It needs an enclosure of at least 1 liter.

Here is a fairly high quality 76mm speaker from USA. Its small size produces no low frequencies and its high frequencies change with the angle it is pointing.

An audio amplifier has at least 3 transistors. Stereo has two amplifiers. Many amplifiers are inside one integrated circuit and amplifier modules are already assembled and sold at low costs.

The volume of your enclosure is too small for a speaker. The cone of a speaker goes in and out which compresses and expands the air in the enclosure so the air acts like a spring increasing the lowest frequency it can produce.

I have seen and heard some very expensive small Bluetooth speakers that sound great. Their raw speakers are not available.

So I would need much more depth for it to be effective essentially? If I bore out some of the back and maybe build a box and box it in may work?

I have seen some little speakers in a small 70mm cube and some are in about the size of a Coke can in half. They probably sound awful and produce a fairly low level.

Got one similar to this one. Sounds pretty darn good for such a small speaker. It's bluetooth, has a battery and plays pretty nice. I can (haven't yet) get a second one and pair the second to the first for stereo, but the quality of sound out of just the single unit is very impressive. It's roughly the size of a soup can, or half the height of a soda can.

Yea mine is just like that, I'm not even bothered about stereo just want it to be louder than my phone and not terrible quality.

Do you play music with your phone or just yap, yap and yap?

Thank you all for your helpful advice, the speaker is now made and just needs aesthetics finishing now. I am actually gobsmacked in the difference in sound quality moving the speaker and electronics from a small round plastic casing to my cube wooden casing it's way better than I could have ever expected.

Ps, please excuse my terrible soldering, it's been a while lol

Your little speaker will sound better if the enclosure is completely sealed. Sound from leaks will cancel low frequencies from the front of the speaker.

Your woodworking skills are excellent. I was wondering how you hid the screws holding the speaker until I saw the hot-melt glue.
Does the tiny (smaller than the little one I showed) produce any bass sounds? What is its part number and where did you get it from (AliExpress or Banggood)?
