I'm working on a high-voltage generator which uses a flyback transformer as the output stage. Flyback transformer circuit diagram is shown in Fig. 1.

Fig. 2. When a fluorescent tube is connected to the negative terminal, it lits brighter.
Fig. 3. When it's connected to the positive terminal, it's dimmer.
Why is that so? Any explanation?
