Hello,i want to interface a 4x4 matrix keypad and a programable lcd to a pic microcontroller.The end item is a color calculator that when a number from 1 to 42 is pushed the lcd will read out 1 of 6 colors allready programed into the lcd.The color 42 is blue,i want the lcd to read out this color.Please point me in right direction.Thanks bob

Here is a website with the basic keypad, pic, and character-type LCD. You may be able to get a few ideas on how to go about designing one of your own.
