They are still used in Seattle, San Fran, maybe Philadelphia, and under discussion to build in Minneapolis.

At the same time, cities in Europe are going battery - all electric (see Namur, Belgium).

Unfortunately, it will make the city ugly if the e-project in Sweden is viewed positively.

Boston still has trolley buses. We call them trackless trolleys. The Silver line is a relatively recent addition, running buses, trackless trolleys and hybrid vehicles.
