I am encounter a problem and need to seek some advice here.
I want to display a CVBS signal from a internal DVD thru a projector system . But I have found it is too noisy for the DVD output. I found that the noise is root from the Video ground. When I try to use the power gound. It seems to be better but found to be have some noise from the motor of the DVD and from the 15V regulated source.

My question is it ok for connect a cap between the video ground to the power ground to 'short' the noise from the video ground to the powr ground?
thanks a lot

Hi,

There should be no problem doing so, except for the value of the cap. That can be sort of experimental for best results.

Another issue - have you checked the cabling to the projector for continuity of grounds? Moulded RCA connectors may look good, but have separated braid underneath. If this is the case, jumping power ground to signal ground will help, but the noise will persist.
