how do you take down a drone bothering you? just wondering if anyone has the

Testicular fortitude to talk about this with the layman. cause like what if the Mexican cartel starts putting out drones in us cities. (potentially offensive language replaced by moderator.)

You report it to the police, FAA, and FBI—in that order. You can't legally take any action, anything you do will expose you to legal consequences unless there is an immediate threat to your life.

Congratulations!
You have won the award for the most ignorant and biased comment of the day.

Up to the “ignore” list you go.
Just to clarify—

This doesn't have to be a racist comment, and without more examples form the TS, I have no reason to assume it is.

It does sound a little paranoid, but in fact at the border (on the Mexican side) the power of the dug cartels is enormous and their use of military style weapons is documented. Still, this may be there result of some particular political rhetoric and an overheated imagination—I don't know. As far as I am concerned, my fear of cross-border drone attacks hovers at around 0 on a scale for 0 to any number you choose.

I do know, as I said above, responding to any drone in flight with an effort to take it down will e a violation of federal law and subject the attacker to potentially severe consequences. Drones are considered aircraft and legally they are treated as such.

I can certainly see using drones to smuggle fentanyl. But I am sure they would avoid annoying anyone by sending them to unpopulated desert areas.

Exactly what Bob meant.
To imply that drug cartels are going to spy on random US citizens is preposterous, in part driven by the current political climate.
Unless one is a drug dealer oneself who has double crossed them.

For my part I am going to not continue this conversation.
