DPDT wiring diagram for 2 sources to 1 load

Hi,
I just purchase a Leviton DPDT switch on-off-on for 120 volts/30 amps. In the wiring diagram included they show how to connect one source to 2 loads. I want to know how to wire the switch for 2 sources (inverter and shore power) to one load. In effect its the opposite of what the diagram is showing. Not quite sure how to go about it. The switch as 6 connections ( seven is you count the green/ground) they are labeled L1, L2, A1, A2, B1 and B2.
Might be simple but I cannot find anywhere how to wire it properly for 120 volts. All I can find is simple 12 volts dc connections and are not pinned the same at all. Any help would be appreciated.

Without seeing it, probably...
L1/L2 to load.
A1/A2 to 120V supply.
B1/B2 to inverter output.
Test it with a meter before you power it up!!!

i know this is a basic question but do I put the load wire (black) to L1, A1 and B1 and neutral (white) to L2, A2 and B2).
By the way, I really appreciate your input. Thanks

Yes, that will work ok.
And it is good to be able to help folks :)
I have had quite a bit of help over the years and I have learnt stuff here too. It is a great forum.

Hey dendad, just out of curiosity. In the shcematic posted above, why do they put A1 with L1 but they put B2 with L2. Is it because it dosen't matter the order of the wires or is there a logic to it. Just a newbie trying to get it strait in my head.

Sorry decell, I was just desperate for the information. I could not find a proper answer in other venues. dendad did a good job clearing things out for me. I will not bother you any longer with this circuit.

Thanks Tonyr, I could not have asked for better. dendad had cleared things up for me and his hand diagram showed me the logic of their plug. You putting it on the photo like that is a really nice touch. Much appreciated, thank to all that helped.

A little side note that might interest you : I had contacted Leviton by email asking them how to wire it properly and the contact person said he talked to the engineers and they said I would need another type of switch that had to be approved. No hints or help. I was not impressed. So much for their engineering department. It must be a liability issue?
Thank again guys,
Larry

There have been a few threads with valid questions about house wiring, and it happens that some of the folks who participate have a lot of experience in that area as well as in other areas. (deleted)
