I am a 2nd-year electrical engineering student completing a research term but I have not been taught very much on power circuits so I don't know if I have made any serious/rookie mistakes while designing this circuit. I am wondering if this might blow up on me or short out somewhere or just generally if anyone has any suggestions for this circuit.

Unless they are designed to be used this way, the turbine and the charge controller shouldn't be both connected to the battery at the same time. At best they will confuse each other.

 

Really? I have seen some other systems that have a hybrid solar/wind setup. Do you know how I should connect them? Or if I just should find another solution.

 

Hunting on www, there seem to be lots of people trying to do this (especially for boats) but no solutions.
