ALL of my ohm meters give different readings for the different connections to a diode. That includes both analog and digital meters. Andif the device is not a diode they will give a similar reading in both directions.It is useless to test a diode with an Ohm meter, the range does not offer sufficient current to FWD bias it.
This is why there is a diode test range that actually imposes a voltage in order to Fwd bias it and measures the volt drop across the diode.
So an ohm meter test will be able to show if some component is NOT a diode in that manner.
