Hi, does anyone know any resources on LCD displays, preferably about the "Liquid Crystal" bit in LCD. This is because I am wondering if it is possible to create a LCD screen that is like cloth or another clothing material.

Not likely. Flexible is possible, but not on clothing; unless the clothing was transparent.

You're not going to have a useful general purpose display unless you can restrict how much the LCD can bend. You also have to have a rigid enough sandwich so that the LCD won't get distorted (for example, when you run your finger(nail) across a non-touch LCD screen). Under some conditions, you're going to need backlighting.

 

I was trying to put cameras in certain places to, so maybe loads of small screens with cameras in between instead?

 

You may want to consider that common LCD chemicals just change the polarization of light. All LCD displays will have a polarizer layer.

No problem. Just let us know what light emitting devices you are using, and we can tell you how to dim them. LCD's, BTW, do not inherently emit light. The light you see comes from another source, like an LED.

That's right. An LCD is transparent until you polarize the crystals.

When I was an R&D Tech, I worked on a prototype of an optical pulse generator. An LCD was used to attenuate the laser beam.
