I found this at the local transfer station today. I think it's some kind of alien technology left by a UFO. When I push a button these red Klingon hieroglyphics show up. Should I report it to the men in black or just run for my life?

I am stumped.

It looks like a coil spring to me, but the end doesn't look quite right so it could also be a roll of solder wire.

 

From watching many action movies I have learned that if a red LED display counting down there will be huge explosion shortly
