I have been searching my family tree through one of the DNA sites and recently had a msg from someone that lives fairly close to where I grew up, and he found out from the site and my tree, that his real father was my half brother.
So the surname he grew up with was wrong, Putting the pieces together is interesting.
BTW, my fathers involment was a few years before he met my mother and it is possible he did not know of it.
To bad I could not ask him about it when he was alive. !
Anyone else find 'skeletons' ?

 

Not as close but on my mom’s side one of her uncles may have had a child that was adopted. He contacted me with questions I couldn’t answer.

I believe if more DNA of people in the future might solve those questions.

Can be a shock, I found out about a year ago that my purported Dad (I met him only until I was like four then they divorced) was not my Dad, my real Dad was a guy my Mom dated in the late 50s but they broke up. I found out I have several brothers from my real Dad and that the real Dad is still alive and in his 80s now.

 

On a related note, A close female member of the family gave birth to a baby that had come from intro-fertilitation.
Who knows how many are out there that are now all related to this one donor !??
