Hi all, i'm looking to find an alternative for the above Technics part number. The marking on the actual diode that has shorted is P300D
and it is used with the other three diodes as a rectifier for the power supply.

I believe this is a 3 amp 500V diode but am i right in saying that the part number is
P300 meaning 300ma maximum continuos forward current
and the
D500 is the peak reverse repetitive voltage?
Q1 what does the 2T stand for and
Q2 do these ratings on the replacement have to be exact or can i go higher (say a 3amp 600V)
Q3 are their any ratings on a diode that have to be exact or can you always go higher due to modern technology/production standards.

Trying to get my head around this again so I can source future replacements without having to call on your expertise.

Thanks

I wouldn't worry about the 5002T term. It's probably some manufacturing code. From this datasheet you can see the full characteristics which may help you find the right replacement. You can go higher if you don't find the same part. I'm sure this diode for that application will have lots of replacements.

Ok thanks, I thought the 300 stood for the max voltage. Presume it would be advisable to move to the P300G specs to ensure they are more reliable in the future? One of the four has shorted so I'll be replacing all four to be on the safe side.
