Hello.

What´s the difference between a recular ferrite core high frequency transformer and a flyback? I mean the old AC TV flybacks without diodes/capacitors.

I have read that the flyback has a gap in the ferrite core (Sometimes a thin plastic disc), but I´m not sure what is the effect of this gap in the current/voltage output. I have read something about reluctance, but my knowledge about electricity are very basic.

They are very similar, I think that the only physical difference is that gap.

Regular HF ferrite transformer

Old AC flyback

Thank you

Kind regards

Thanks for your answers.

Ok, a lot of changes. And in wich configuration is higher the voltage? with or without gap?

The gap has no direct effect on the flyback voltage, it just determines at what primary current the transformer saturates.

You need to read some tutorials on transformers (regular and flyback) to understand them and avoid asking questions that make no sense.

Ok ok. I thought the gap make a diference in the voltage outoput. I tried to find that info in the internet, but I don´t find it. Could you give a link where that is explained?

Thank you
