*If anyone knows of an LCD that will just work plug and play with one of those VST59 kits please let me know, I'd like to salvage this
.
I know very little about this kinda thing. I ended up with this little monstrosity that wasn't any use to me but it did power up and work, stuff displayed on the LCD. The board is some kind of Amlogic media player.

Not sure if we're allowed to post eBay links so I won't link to it, but I got one of those T.VST59.031 driver kits (HDMI, VGA, etc.) on eBay and confirmed with the seller it was supposed to be compatible with my LCD. I disconnected everything and connected it to the VST59 board, and using a photo of the previous setup I made sure to connect the LVDS connector the same way according to the pin 1 marking on each board.
Nothing happened, the power LED on the VST59 board lit up but the LCD just stayed black/off. I disconnected everything and re-connected the Amlogic board, but I accidentally connected the small 4-pin connector from the LCD that's supposed to go to the inverter to the USB connector on the Amlogic board and tried to power it up. LCD stayed black, I realized my mistake and corrected it but the LCD still stays black.
In addition when I connect the LCD to the VST59 board with the inverter the PSU's green LED blinks instead of staying solid, if I disconnect the inverter from the VST59 board the PSU LED stays solid green as it should be. This only happens when I combine the VST59 board with the inverter, it doesn't happen when I connect the Amlogic board.
So I'm pretty sure I killed this LCD but I thought I'd ask here and see what people say. I did notice that on the VST59 LVDS connector there is an empty pin but on the LVDS cable that empty pin location has a black wire. I just figured a not connected wire doesn't pose a risk, although it did indicate the connectors on the VST59 and Amlogic boards are not necessarily compatible. Thanks
