Device idea

Just what we need — eight year olds carrying lethal weapons. What could possibly go wrong?
NNATURALLY, this form of protection is limited to legally licensed individuals.
As for dogs, certainly they can be trained to be protective, it is instinctive with them, mostly. And I was not even thinking about kids of any age, only adults. Many kids lack adequate judgement and experience regarding others. I always protected my kids when we were out. That did not require firearms, on my part.
BUT those attempting to break into my house may experience "harsh treatment."

The one that I saw in the youtube video has artificial intelligence. Not only it looks like a real puppy, it is quite more advanced than what I imagined. It has 'responsive movement'. Now, coming to your perpetrator question, what if the puppy is trained to identify dangerous situation like someone slapping, beating, touching inappropriately, trying to assault the kid etc.? What if it can detect overall violent behaviour?
As I said, pie-in-the-sky. What's "touching inappropriately"? If a grown man gives a young teenage girl a hug, is that touching inappropriately? What's "trying to assault"? If the kid is being chased by someone and the kid is trying desperately to avoid them, does that qualify? What is "overall violent behavior"?

OK. I admit that what is appropriate in one society can be inappropriate in another. In a Muslim society like mine, if a grown man gives a young teenage girl a hug, this will be considered inappropriate if the man is not her direct blood relative (like father, brother and so on). That's a broad discussion. However, some behaviors are universally unacceptable, right? Like grabbing someone's crotch, groping someone by her breasts and the list goes on. Doing or attempting to forceful penetration is also forbidden by the laws of all civilized nations. Yeah. I understand, now the biggest question is how to train the robot to detect these behaviours. Looks like I am looking for a needle in a haystack.

hi love,
It is your Society that requires the training to respect the rights of Women and treat them as equals, not with the naive idea of training robot dogs to deal with the problem.

As I posted earlier, terminate the proven offenders, this would send a clear message to anyone considering sexually assaulting an innocent person.
