I have 2 broken mobo's, ones for socket AM3+, the other is for IvyBridge chips iirc. I have a 3CH PSU to test the mobo, but IDK where to start. IDK where I should be expecting voltages, when no other parts are attached.
When I checked the AM3+ board it's a PC, it would make the PSU shutdown, even after the RAM and GPU where removed, but the PSU was fine.
So right now, I have the bare mobo, with a 24pin and 4pin cable attached, and 3Ch's I can test with. I might be able to find and fix a power section. But I wonder how many chips on this thing can tell the mobo to turn off the PSU, if they have a problem.
I could hook it to a full ATX PSU, but not yet.
I can't even find a decent block diagram of a modern mobo, by searching.
