Hello everyone,

We are designing a BLDC ceiling fan for that we have a 18 slots stator, 16 pole magnetic ring, enclosure, blades and other things for making 12v bldc ceiling fan. We already have the driver/ controller.

Where we can find the design and calculation for winding structure? Or any simulation software is available for free where we can test.

It is hard to imagine how you could design the rotor and stator without understanding how it would be wound.

I don’t see how 16 poles works if you were planning on 3-phase.

Typically, a ceiling fan has a large diameter and rotates relatively slowly. For such a project I'd look at using a BLDC window winding motor, maybe even a windscreen wiper motor as they are relatively inexpensive to buy (made in large quantities) and they are robust and reliable. Designing and building a motor from scratch is not a trivial task and unless your planned volume is significant, it'll be far more costly.

Hi, bobTPH

We are not designing the stator and rotor as I said above so it is fix we are finding winding calculation to work with 12v. It can be also done with trial and error by winding different turns but we don't want that.

Hi, Jerry-Hat-Trick

We reverse engineered the 12v ceiling fan having 12 slots and 14 poles magnet it having 37 wound on each teeth. But it has different stator than ours.
