Gambling in the stock market is not my thing, so I won't become rich.

The report is interesting. There was no policy (regulations) mentioned in the report which contributed to the decline. Was the decline a function of the previous mortgage holders not being able to get a loan for a number of years since their foreclosure?

Was the decline in newer criteria to obtain a loan?

Then why in the hell did you state, from someone else's list, to cut planned Parenthood funding?
Cutting Planned Parenthood funding is something the Religious Right is always proposing because they don't like the fact that Planned Parenthood performs abortions. I suppose it's there to please them, even though the Gov't does not pay for abortions. For the life of me I don't know why they would want to do it.:(

Sure. I only bet what I can lose, strictly for its entertainment value. Lol
You missed my point. Anything you do with your money, aside from spending it, is gambling. You gamble on stock prices, interest rates, inflation, or commodity prices -- or any combination of the above.

If you choose not to gamble in stocks, you are gambling in something else. Most likely, inflation.

We all gamble in something, be it in stocks, in business and even in relationships... and yes, inflation is the worst way to gamble, economically speaking.

The gambling aspect may go down, in the sense that the outcome is more predictable. Avoiding equities is a certain way to limit your upside to barely more than inflation. There's plenty of downside no matter what you invest in, even if you avoid stocks.

OK. As expected, this Thread wandered off into many different things. I didn't start this to find out who I am or where I fit. It seems I don't fit, but that is not a surprise. I just wanted some frame of reference when I'm reading the alleged "news". I think this Thread helped.

I would like to mention that the Founders of the U.S.A. were astonishing in their education and wisdom. Reading The Federalist Papers was a real eye opener. Compared to the way our government is today, The Federalist Papers were a utopian fantasy and we are now Through The Looking Glass with Alice and The Mad Hatter. Our Government is not about We The People. It is about advertising, public image, and winning, quickly followed by greed and corruption, without even a sidelong glance at The Constitution. I could not be a Republican or a Democrat because they have nothing to do with administration of our country. They are just the two largest pigs at the trough.

Yes, I just said our government is not governing. Each politician, party, and subdivision is just fighting for their chance to take home some of the outrageous amount of money that passes through every level of government, from the President to the Dog Catcher. It isn't, "corruption at the highest levels" it is, "corruption at every level". I don't see much difference between Dennis Raider (the dog catcher/ BTK serial killer) and President Obama.

The best I can do is to realize I'm not in the game, and I'm happy about it.

There's no place on earth I'd rather be.

Agreed! -- But because the once (well-neigh) 'honorable' terms/affiliations - to wit: 'Republican' and 'Democrat' have been co-opted by conservatives and liberals (respectively) - which being as each side of a single counterfeit coin:rolleyes::mad:

Very Best regards
