Looking at a 422 driver from TI.
I dont understand what they mean by the second parameter here and how it differs from the first one. If its the input voltage going into the chip can someone explain what they mean by input for a 485 driver? If it was an op amp i could see what the "input" would be but?
Can anyone lend a hand? Thanks

You have taken these out of their proper context.
The context is Absolute Maximum Ratings.
The numbers mean don't allow Vcc pin to fall below -0.3V or go higher than 6V.
Don't allow D, DE, /RE pins to fall below -0.5V or go higher than 7V.
