a resistor of 2ohms is connected to a cell, when the magnitude of current is i.if another resistor of resistance 2ohms is connected in series to resistor of 2ohms,the magnitude of current will be?

Please do not hijack another users thread.

Given that the magnitude of the current: i = V/R

Then if R doubles from 2Ohms to 4Ohms (2Ohms + 2Ohms) and V remains constant, then the magnitude of the current will be i/2

how come v remains the same in the above connection.
Because your question does not specified that V changes therefore I assume it is constant. This is valid in this instance, but do try to avoid making assumptions when analysing circuits.

Note that if V does change then this will have an impact on the magnitude of i.
