Hello,

Please I am designing a metamaterial unit cell on CST studio, to operate at negative real permeability, and with the imaginary permeability being as small as possible. This is to be used in a 13.56MHz wireless power transfer (WPT) system to enhance power transfer efficiency (PTE). so far I have tried several designs, including SRRs (circular, square, single, double, triple SRRs), capacitor loaded square spirals, etc. Infact I have tried to replicate designs from several published papers, and I'm still not able to achieve negative real permeability (Re{mu_r}). At this point. I think perhaps, the problem is with my setup. so pls can anyone help me? what is the right boundary conditions, as well as background settings. Also what ports should I use? I've tried floquet ports (with boundary conditions set as X/Y = unit cell. and Z=open, or open(add space)), waveguide ports(with boundary conditions set as X/Y = periodic, and Z=open or open(add space)), and I am still not able to replicate any of these papers. In my Property extraction, (under results templates in post-processing), for the effective thickness of material, I used substrate thickness, I've also used [substrate size + copper thickness], I've also used distance between ports (for floquet ports-- Zmax-Zmin, and for waveguide ports, I used distance between port1 and port2). With all these, I still cant replicate any of the designs on these papers, neither have I been able to produce my own design. So I am thinking, something must be wrong. Pls somebody Help me. Thank you.
