hello everyone i am a student of Mechatronics engineering I'm new on this platform
well the thing is my final project is voting machine
I'm using simple counters but here comes the issue our professor said we r not allowed to use the ic's so does anyone have the counter logic circuit

Not using a packaged counter is to make you research how counters work and how they are constructed from simpler elements. So, given a counter is a simple sequential storage mechanism, what other building block do you know that stores state?

How do you plan to use counters in your 'voting machine', what's the strategy?

 

i know all types of flip flops and latches as well

 

Good. So what sort of counter do you require? How does your voting machine work?

 

well first i thought of taking input in flip flops and then use adders and the second idea is to simply count the votes using counters and then use BCD decoders for 7 segment LED so yeah

 

Not much of a 'voting machine' then? Just a simple counter, despite being tediously constructed from flip-flops, isn't much of a project.

Do you know how to design a synchronous counter?

For the low speeds required here, a ripple counter should be fine.
It doesn't need to be a synchronous type.
