Right, im working on an assignment, and the question asks how would you control a heating system from a microprocessor using an SCR and d/a converter. I think i know how to do it, but something someone said confused me, so could someone please help me clarify this.
So its a full-power load, we got a pio outputting 0v to 5v digital signal, into a d/a converter. d/a converter outputs a varying analogue signal which is fed into the SCR circuit. SCR circuitry consists of triac and diac which then controls the heater according to desire. Now whats confusing me is, someone said i would need to make use of a voltage oscillator source, isolator and rectifier before i feed the signal into the SCR circuitry. isolator i understand would give the pio protection, but how would i increment it in my circuit, and why do i need the oscillator and rectifier in the circuit???
HELP!!PLEASE!!
