Hi all,

I was wondering if there are any go-to vendors, for components more suited to amateur radio? The reason I'm asking is the bigger suppliers like Farnel and Digikey don't seem to stock the bigger variable capacitors, inductors, etc. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong places, but are there more specific vendors people use when they want to get a, say, 33pF variable cap?

A good place to pick up RF components and much more is at an Amateur Radio flea market.

Mr Chips, nice picture of a national nc300 reciever on the left, I have one of those here as a project to restore picked up at a local ham radio sidewalk sale. there are hamfests and such every weekend here in the States, probably a lot in England too

Yes rallies are always cool. I'm a member of CDARC too.

We have a rally in the area about once a year, but it is always the same day as a bagpipe competition. I'll keep an ear/eye out for other events.
