Does that mean that the antenna will not function if the wire connecting to the ethernet is not polarized. In this case it is horizontal. The system am workin on is Alvarion BMAX-CPE-ODU-PRO-DMe-SA-3.5, they are subcriber unit TX/RX but can not communicate with each other. I need help.

Your problem does not sound like it has to do with antenna polatization, so I have moved it to its own thread.

Tell us more about the problem - error messages and the like.

 

Is the wire coming from your ethernet supposed to be the antenna? If it is, then yes, polarization does matter. If your antenna is supposed to be vertical and you currently have it horizontal, your receiving signal can have a typical 20dB decrease in gain. However, if the wire coming from the ethernet connects to some stage in your RF receiver (hopefully it's a short connection, especially at high frequencies) then polarization isn't an issue. In that case, your simply completing your RF circuit to yield a receiver.
