Common mode choke in power supply circuit

I would like to use a common mode choke at the input power supply to the circuit board schematics I am working. We need to add common mode choke at the input power supply DC 5V. There are components on the circuit board and they need DC 5 V.

I would like to verify connections to the common mode choke. There are two coils, one is called primary coil and the other is called secondary coil.

I have attached the datasheet of PA2747NL and also screenshot of the package.

Pin_1 and Pin_2 belong to primary coil.
Pin_3 and Pin_2 belong to secondary coil.

The primary coil (Pin_1 and Pin_2) should be in the path of DC 5 V.
The secondary coil (Pin_3 and Pin_4) should be in the path of GND.

Kindly let me know if the above two statements are correct.

My understanding is that in DC circuits the coil or inductor should be added in series. This means one coil or inductor in series in the path of DC 5V and the other coil or inductor should be in the path of GND.

Yes, your connection scheme is correct.
Make sure to use the same polarity to the +5V and GND on the input and output to your circuit.

Note that common-mode chokes don't really have a primary and secondary, they just have two equal windings.
