Does someone know, when I replied to one of the articles on AAC site if I do get some notification like I get on the normal threads, or do I need to check myself?

Watch the thread you responded to--you will get notified to any additional posts.
You mean there is some button that I need to click so that I get notified, or is the notification automatic and I don´t need to do anything? Or should I just keep the tab open and refresh it every once in a while?

Well thank you for putting this in the correct place @ericgibbs , but is there really no one here who knows how the site works?
I don't know for sure what the answer to your question is, but you have to understand that you only asked yesterday. I can see that your comment to Mark's recent article has appeared and I am assuming that is what you are referring to. @Mark Hughes is pretty good about responding and I think he will probably do so either in the article or here in the forum. I think he has been to CES recently, but I notice that he is good about that stuff.

When I have written a comment to an article, I have never received an email. When someone responds to an article, there is an email notification to the author - at least that is the way it has worked in the past. Unlike the forum, however, there can be a bit of a delay before it appears in the comments section - I have noticed that and I am not sure why, but I thought it was to catch spam.

If this issue is very important to you why not address @Kate Smith directly?

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your answer. Yes that is the article, and the issue is not at all important. I was only baffled that Eric read my question and moved the thread where it belongs, but even as a moderator who has been a mod here for a long while he doesn´t seem to know how the forum site is integrated with the main site. I am sure the blue vs orange forum brings its own issues to it as well, and maybe if I was using the new orange style there would be a notification on the top of the page, like with new posts etc, and frankle Novice´s answer was more confusing than helping.
I don´t think I have seen Mark in the forums I usually check, so I didn´t even know he is present here as well. As for Kate, I really had no idea that she is someone to whom I should point my question.

Remember, you are asking about an issue in the comments section of an article. I don't know for sure, but I don't think that the mods work that area as they do the forum. Hence, he moved your query to a more appropriate place. Kate is a very high speed, high capacity computer that would scare even @nsaspook .... whatever you do in life, don't mess with The Kate :)

Hi @kubeek -- and thanks @Raymond Genovese for the ping. I've been furiously writing since I got back from CES, and I decided to turn the internet off today and put in a few hours on designing my next project. But I don't think I would have seen the comments without Raymond's help, since google decided to put them in my spam folder :( I'll start with the comments and then come back here in a few minutes.

@kubeek,
Would you like to post your test&measurement question over in the T&E forum and ping me? I'll jump in and help if I can. It's not that I don't frequent forums, I do. But I'm much more of a lurker than an active participant.
Thanks,
Mark

For me AAC was allways a coherent site, with the textbook and forum being close tied together, even if mainly by the authors and mods. I was hoping that since I have to login to make a comment to an article there would be some mechanism to alert me about a reply while browsing the forum.
@Mark Hughes thank you for being so active. Seeing that you replied to me in that article as I checked it now, I didn´t get any notification. Not in the forum, main site, or in the mail. That ultimately resolves my question, but I think it is a point that could be improved in the site software.

I will start a thread in the T&C forum and link to you an the article, it might spawn some interesting contribution from others.
