hi there, can you call a switch mode (AC-DC) power supply CNC power supply, or it will supply power to CNC machines?
Anything which supplies power to a CNC machine could be called a CNC power supply. If it doesn't it couldn't be.
Typically a CNC machine is never supplied via a SMPS as a principle supply , but they are sometimes used inside the system for minor, low current tasks.hi there, can you call a switch mode (AC-DC) power supply CNC power supply, or it will supply power to CNC machines?
Mine doesn't feature a single mains transformer - 100% SMPS.Typically a CNC machine is never supplied via a SMPS as a principle supply , but they are sometimes used inside the system for minor, low current tasks.

Yes, I have always found them to be completely inoffensive.Would you also call a power supply that supplies power to a PC a PC power supply?
What make? Industrial or DIY?Mine doesn't feature a single mains transformer - 100% SMPS.

From a couple of sites I visit, some of the Chinese machines are notoriously bad with safety/code issues.Yes, and excellent value and function.
The problem is that everyone does not have the background to detect any of the code violations!None of the electronic box covers were earthed but that's easy to fix.
The problem is that I don't want to pay ten times the price for someone else to add some earth connections. The bit I can't do is the mechanics and they are pretty good for the price. The problem is that everyone does not have the background to detect any of the code violations!
