I don't know where to post this question, so I am going to post it here. I just finished taking my Intro to Logic Design class and when we did timing diagrams, we had a clock for the flipflops. I was wondering. Is that clock, that same clock that we talk about when we refer to the clock speed of a computer's processor? On the timing diagram, I can see how a faster clock would allow you to computer more data.

That is correct. More or less, all digital circuits use a clock to synchronize their functions. In PCs the clock is divided a bit, even before it reaches the processors. In general, the clock is divided in a complex system to drive both fast and slower components.
