I have a clock module and want to just use the motor bit and coil (a single coil, no tappings) to drive the second hand intermittently, stepping one step with a one pulse input. Or maybe 60 steps (360*) with a one pulse input. I'm setting about using it as a data recorder to show how many times a reed switch closes. Maximum pulse frequency input would be once every 2 minutes. I tried it before by letting the closing of the reed switch turn on the 1v5 supply to the clock, but it wasn't an accurate way of doing it. Perhapswhat is needed is a circuit to generate a slow positive then negative drive pulse to the coil for every one pulse input. Any suggestions, please?.

I do not have any spec or circuit for the clock movement.
It is a simple cheap 1v5 battery powered clock with a second hand.
It has a quartz module, as you'd expect, and a single coil (no tapping) to power the simple stepping motor.
