Choosing voltage range

Hi all,

I'm going to use the buffer circuit, but the input (non-inverting terminal) of the buffer is maximum 5V. In this case, Do you suggest me to use the volatge ranges to the buffer amplifier is +5V and -5V is enough ?. or Do I need to choose higher voltage rating like more than 5V?.

The BUF04701 datasheet says it is Not Recommended For New Designs.

Its datasheet shows that its power supply voltages must be 0.25V higher than its maximum peak output voltages when the load is not less than 2k ohms. There is more output voltage loss and more heating if the load is less than 2k ohms.
If you want the output to reach +5V and -5V with a 2k load, the buffer must have a power supply of at least +5.25V and -5.25V.

( BUF04701AIPWR is an active number TSSOP-14 Package )
Was pinkyponky looking for a SMD Package like the one above ?
What is the Input coming from, and what is the Output Driving ?
Do you need ~8-mhz speed ?
This Chip can be Powered with up to ~12-Volts,
do you actually need an exact 5-Volt Output ?
What type of Power-Supply is available to Power this Chip ?

The input of buffer is coming from the DAC and then output of buffer going to some energy sources. But, the maximum of output is 5V. In order to drive this voltage as a output of the buffer, so how much voltage should be applied to the buffer?. Is that enough to apply +5V and -5V (OR) need to be applied more voltage (to the buffer)?. I'm not talking specially for one component and my question is general.

The sort of things you need to look at in a buffer are
output voltage range
output current range ( depends upon your load impedance )
output speed ( rise fall time )
input voltage range

Some of these are dependent upon the power rail voltages,
others affect each other,
i.e. a small voltage out can change faster in the same part than a large output voltage,

So to answer question,
if you have 5v input signal, and your amp is specified to drive up to vcc in, then you can power it at 5v,

Typically,
one would ask and answer the above questions than choose a part to meet the requirements,
