Hi Guys,

Is there anywhere you recommend that shows guidance on what frequencies/technologies are best suited to applications. I.e for a wireless mesh with a relatively small data requirement. I.e why 868MHz or 2.4GHz etc?

Any help would be appreciated.

 

It is not just a question of which is most suitable on an Engineering basis.

The Radio spectrum is a regulated asset under International Treaty,so that some services are allocated particular frequency bands by law,& the protocols of that type of service are affected by that allocation.

 

you can find some frequency band that are not in use, but of course you can find those after talking it out with communications commissions in your country..as vk6zgo said, these are governed by laws and protocols..
