Hello,

I am planning to purchase a digital oscilloscope and I am based in India. My budget range is ₹35,000–₹40,000.

My minimum required specifications are:

  • Bandwidth: 100 MHz
  • Maximum sampling rate: 1 GSa/s
  • Channels: 2 or 4

I prefer to buy from reputed brands like Tektronix, Rigol, or Keysight. I checked online, but Tektronix and Keysight models are beyond my budget.

Currently, I found Rigol DS1102Z-E, which fits my budget, but it has only 2 channels. link

So I have a few questions:

  1. Should I go ahead and purchase this model?
  2. Is this a very old model or still relevant in 2025?
  3. Are there any better Rigol models available in this price range, especially with 4 channels, or is 2-channel the best option under this budget?

Please suggest based on your experience.

Thank you.

What is the functions or area you intend to use it in. There are some cheap FIRSNI models that work for general tasks.

Max is correct!!
Certainly the capability and features of a scope depend on what you need (or intend) to use it for.
So please describe whatever it is that you intend to use the scope for.
