When searching google for development board or dev board, if you want something more general purpose.
Look for Demo board if you have a specific application in mind, they are typically less flexible, though the PIC32 w/Color LCD Demo board is quite awesome, you need the different compiler.

It was for testing subcircuits of my current project before paying to have circuit boards fabbed. Attached is a photo of it on a PCB. Most generally speaking, it's a hand-held variable power supply. It uses a boost converter to output 4-6V up to 5A from a high drain Li-Ion cell, rechargeable via USB. It's for a specialized application and the display provides information specific to the application.
