y(n-2)+y(n) = x(n) + 0.98x(n+1)

is this a causal or non-causal system?
and,why?

Did you mean to say that it is causal if it does NOT depend on any future values?

y(n)=x(n)+x(n-1) causal

y(n)=x(n)+x(n+1) non causal

y(n+1)=x(n)+x(n+1) could be made causal: y(n)=x(n-1)+x(n)
