Hello
For my schoolproject i need/want to build a coilgun.
I have a working circuit now. This includes a 230v (the Netherlands) ac to 25v dc transformer, a button and a coil. I have a couple of capacitors, biggest is 400uF 25V, but they are pretty weak. Now was I wondering, can I just use a, for example, 28000 uF 25V capacitor? Then I don't have to buy a new transformer but still have increased the power/energy stored (1/2*C*V^2).
Is it still save to use, since it is only 25V even though a high capacity?
This was my question, thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
