capacitor symmetricity question

Look at the data sheet for the part. I don't see anything in the English version that indicates any kind of polarity -- nor does the data sheet have any hint of some line on one side. Where did that footprint picture come from? Looks like it might be just some generic 3D model.

The gold line may indicate the outer layer of the fabricated capacitor.
That side would have a small coupling to external electric fields.
If the capacitor goes to ground, that should be the gold line side.

Good point. I had completely forgotten about that since I haven't worked with RF much at all at the component level, but those were issues we had to deal with on IC designs where we had to be concerned with coupling to nearby traces.
